Santa Clarita, CA – Limited Angle Torque Motors or “Torquers” as they are commonly referred to are the rotary actuator of choice when high torque, high acceleration, extremely smooth motion, high reliability, and high precision are required. H2W Technologies manufacturers “Torquers” that have applications from below sea level to outer space. These single phase, brushless, low profile motors, vacuum compatible to 10^5 torr, are ideal for: Operating valves, control surfaces on submersible watercraft, aerospace fin actuation, precision ball screw rotation, and positioning laser reflecting mirrors.

Standard and custom design “Torquers” manufactured by H2W Technologies include, miniature 1.4 Ncm continuous, torque 5.2 Ncm peak torque (2 oz-in., 6 oz/in.) motors and powerful 706 Ncm continuous torque, 2118 5.2 Ncm peak (1000 oz-in. continuous torque, 3000 oz-in. peak) motors.

Available in kit and housed styles, H2W Technologies limited angle torque motors come in two distinct series to meet diverse application requirements. The MR series of limited angle torque motors feature a toroidally wound iron core stator with 2, 4, or 6 pole permanent magnet rotors. This series provides angular excursions (rotation) to 180O and typically is supplied in kit form to be directly mounted to the drive shaft of an application. By modifying the stator windings angular excursions greater than 180O can be realized.

The WR series is an arc segmented multi-pole permanent magnet stator motor with a low inertia copper magnet wire rotor for excursions less than 90O. Additionally the WR series of “Torquers” are available in standard and low profile versions

Torquer options are kit motors, and housed motors which incorporate: Bearings, shafts, housings, provisions for encoders, and custom mountings. A matching Linear servo amplifier and complete plug-and-play systems are available.

Linear Motion – Lower Cost Moving Magnet Designs from H2W Technologies!

Santa Clarita, CA —– Typically a Linear Motion H2W Moving Magnet Actuator has precision bushings and shaft which cause the moving magnet design to be cost prohibitive. However not every customer requires a bushing with high tolerance precision, and thus H2W has the ability to modify the linear bearing systems of our voice coil designs to accommodate a lower cost bushing and shaft. The pictured actuator has a custom shaft and housing to accommodate a customer’s specific cost, envelope, and shaft requirements

Voice Coil Actuators are typically for applications requiring short strokes, however, H2W offers varying strokes from their stock actuators and can modify any of these models with a short lead time to accommodate many specification modifications. Additionally, typically voice coil actuators have been intended for low force applications, however H2W Technologies offers forces up to and exceeding 100 pounds of continuous force and 300 pounds of peak force at 10% Duty Cycle.

The moving magnet style actuator is provided with supplied internal bushings and a hardened steel shaft or hard anodized aluminum shaft. H2W currently stocks actuators up to 3 inches of stroke, and has built moving magnet actuators with a stroke as long as 5 inches, and up to 12 inches can be built upon request.

Santa Clarita, CA — This moving coil voice coil linear motion actuator has a built-in bearing system in a compact package. Previously, customers’ would be required to either implement a bearing system through a stage, or make an accommodation on the envelope by trying to integrate a Moving Magnet Design. H2W has released NCC Actuators that are available from stock with strokes up to 5.2 inches, and longer strokes are available upon request. Although Voice Coil Actuators are traditionally shorter strokes, H2W now offers longer stroke actuators from stock. The moving coil style actuator is provided with supplied internal bushings and a hardened steel shaft.

Laser Beam Steering Voice Coil Stage is Gold Plated!

Santa Clarita, CA — Gold plated Voice Coil Linear Positioning Stage designed for a laser beam steering application features high acceleration and high resolution. This high acceleration compact VCS Series stage from H2W Technologies has a stroke length of 25 mm (1.0 in.) and a positioning resolution of 1 micron (0.000004 in.) The low mass, zero cogging, moving coil has very low electrical and mechanical time constants allowing for high acceleration/deceleration of light pay loads such as steering mirrors. These stages are ideal for short stroke, closed loop, applications requiring high resolution, and high acceleration /deceleration control. Typical beam steering applications include: Laser pointers and designators, Obstacle avoidance systems, Free space optical communications, Laser micromachining, and in Manufacturing, Aerospace, Medical, and Defense industries.
